“From Pieces to Purpose”
Our mission is to be a steady presence in the lives of young people, especially in schools and communities.
Our mission is to be a steady presence in the lives of young people, especially in schools and communities.
Our nonprofit organization is made up of dedicated fathers, grandfathers, and male mentors who answer the call to serve. We believe every child deserves guidance , encouragement, and protection when they get knocked down, and that starts with you showing up.
At Fathers on Watch, our mission is to be a steady presence in the lives of young people, especially in schools and communities where positive male role models are needed most. By walking alongside children, we teach them that kindness is strength, leadership is service, and the choices they make today shape the lives they lead tomorrow.

My name is Anthony Smith. The Founder and Director of Fathers On Watch. I’m a former United States Marine and a disabled veteran. I’ve served my country with pride, but some of the toughest battles I’ve faced came after the service. Battles with brokenness, regret, and the long road to becoming the man, the father, and the leader I was created to be.
What once set me back… has now set me up.
Set me up to see with new eyes.
To feel with a deeper heart.
To lead with renewed purpose.
I have three amazing sons and a beautiful daughter. I haven’t always been there for them the way I should have. Life’s struggles and personal mistakes pulled me away. But they still need me. And I’ve come to embrace this truth: It’s never too late.
Never too late to show up.
Never too late to grow.
Never too late to lead with love.
That belief is what gave birth to Fathers on Watch.
An organization not born out of perfection but out of pain turned into purpose.
It’s also a call to serve once again.
Not with weapons or war, but with presence, wisdom, and compassion.
To stand watch over the next generation and show them a different way forward.
We are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and male mentors who’ve seen what happens when men step up and what happens when they don’t. So we step in. We show up. We take what was broken and use it to build something better.
That’s why our motto is: “From Pieces to Purpose.”
We go into schools, neighborhoods, and communities to plant seeds of kindness, character, and courage. And as we serve, we teach the children that they can serve too—that they can lead with love, stand up for others, and become the change this world needs.
This is my story.
This is our story.
And I believe the best is yet to come!
Chess is more than a game — it's a reflection of life. Every piece has a role. Every move is a choice. And every choice shapes your future.
Like life, in chess, you can’t take back a move. You have to think ahead, stay focused, and protect what matters most. Sacrifices are sometimes necessary, but your purpose must always remain clear.
At Fathers on Watch, we teach young minds that life is a series of decisions — just like chess. And those decisions will determine your outcome.
Think before you move. Lead with purpose. And remember: from pieces to purpose, we grow stronger together.
